IV THERAPY
IV THERAPY PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To help ensure a safe and comfortable IV therapy experience at Skin Firm Aesthetics + Wellness, please follow these recommendations before your appointment.
1. Hydrate Before Your Appointment
Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of your appointment. Proper hydration may make your veins easier to access and help support a comfortable infusion experience.
2. Eat Before Your Appointment
Have a balanced meal or snack before your infusion unless you have been instructed otherwise by your healthcare provider. Avoid arriving on an empty stomach.
3. Review Your Medications and Supplements
Inform your provider of all medications, vitamins, supplements, and recent treatments. Notify your provider of any allergies, previous reactions to IV therapy, or sensitivities to ingredients that may be included in your infusion.
4. Share Your Medical History
Before treatment, disclose any relevant medical conditions, including kidney or heart conditions, diabetes, high blood pressure, or a history of allergic reactions. Inform your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or may be pregnant.
5. Wear Comfortable Clothing
Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to your arm and the intended IV insertion site.
6. Allow Time for Your Appointment
Arrive a few minutes early to complete any required paperwork and discuss your treatment plan with your provider. Appointment length may vary depending on your selected infusion.
7. Notify Your Provider of Any Changes
Contact Skin Firm Aesthetics + Wellness before your appointment if you develop a fever, feel acutely unwell, or experience any new symptoms or changes in your health.
8. Follow Individualized Medical Instructions
Your provider may recommend additional preparation based on your medical history, the ingredients in your infusion, and your treatment goals. Follow all individualized instructions provided before your appointment.
Important: IV therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Your provider will review your medical history and determine whether treatment is appropriate for you. Please ask questions about your infusion ingredients, potential risks, and expected benefits before treatment.
POST- CARE
● Remove Dressing: Remove gauze and compression wrap 20–30 minutes after your appointment, once bleeding has stopped.
● Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water after your infusion.
● Monitor IV Site: Keep the area clean and watch for increasing redness, swelling, drainage, or pain.
● Watch for Reactions: Contact your provider if you develop unusual symptoms. Seek emergency care for difficulty breathing, throat tightness, or swelling of the face or tongue.
● Vitamin C Infusions: If you have diabetes, vitamin C may interfere with certain blood glucose meters and cause falsely elevated readings. Follow your provider’s instructions.
